A lot of people who own Android phones are envious about Facetime for Android. Facetime, for the benefit of those who are not aware and familiar about this, is an application for Apple mobile products. Facetime enables users to video chat and communicate with friends who have the same application or are registered to Facetime. Facetime for Android, however, do not exist as of press time. There are alternative applications that work for both Android and iOS like Skype, Tango, Fring, Gtalk and many more. But the question now should be answered. Basically, why are there no Facetime for Android?
1. Facetime For PC is proprietary to Apple Facetime for Android does not really exist. Facetime is a property of Apple. It was built by the company to exclusively give the iOS users an access video-calling and instant messaging. Are you familiar with BBM or the Blackberry Messaging application exclusively for Blackberry users? The BBM allows all Blackberry users to send free messages to their friends (who own Blackberry phones) who are also registered to the application. The same thing goes for iPhone users. They have their very own Facetime.
2. Lacks built-in video chat app Unlike Blackberry or Apple products, Android phones lacks applications that give users the opportunity to communicate for free. It would have been better if there exist a Facetime for Windows application but Android lack built-in video chat application. There is no application built and made by Android developers that enables Android users to interact with their co-Android user friends via chat or video call. However, there are applications that work for Android and iOS. This means that if your friend owns an iPhone 4S and you own a Samsung Galaxy S III mini, you can still enjoy and communicate with each other through these common applications.
3. Chat app is not yet available Chat or video chat application is not yet available in the Android market. As of now, developers are trying and looking for ways to make this application happen and available to the Android users. However, as stated above, there are indeed applications that enable and allows Android users to experience free calls, text messaging and video chat. These applications are not exclusively for Android. Thus making it possible to actually communicate not only to Android users but also to iOS and perhaps other operating systems for mobile today.
A lot of people who own Android phones are envious about Facetime for iOS. Facetime for Android do not exist as of today. There are alternative applications that work for both Android and iOS like Skype, Tango, Fring, Gtalk, Viber and many more. Android might not have chat applications exclusively available to Android users yet but sooner there will be; or even when there is no Facetime available for Android phones, it is just so good that applications which are great alternatives to Facetime exists. You can video call your friends and have a group chat, instant message them or just listen to their voice. Whatever your choice, it still works. Let’s enjoy them while we wait for Facetime for Android!
